About Keren
Who is the curator of Keren's Closet?
My name is Keren Charles Duclosel. I now reside in Atlanta. I am a personal shopper and thrift shopping expert. Naturally my first true love is fashion, so I love helping women feel confident about their image and personal style.
Who inspires my style?
My late aunt inspired my style. She was the epitome of a fine dressed lady. Whether going to church or to the grocery store, she always looked stylish and very fashionable. My mom inspired my fashion sense. She introduced me to secondhand stores at an early age, so I learned the joy of thrift shopping and how to create fashionable wardrobes on a modest budget. My late grandmother showed me how to let my confidence exude through my style choices. Her classic style, bubbly personality and contagious smile were a perfect balance to her trend setting fashion choices.
When do I feel most fashionable?
I feel most fashionable when I'm out shopping and complete strangers walk up to me and ask for fashion advice.
Where am I from and its influence on my fashion sensibility?
I was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad, but grew up in New Orleans. In both cultures, women are very comfortable in their own skin and it's not taboo to be exposed or too sexy. Especially when wearing costumes in bold, vibrant colors during Carnival and Mardi Gras. I love wearing clothes that enhance my body and express my mood.
